Deanwood was designed and built by many well known African American architects, including William Sidney Pittman and Howard Woodson. Amongst famous architects, the famous musical artist, Marvin Gaye was born, raised and lived in Deanwood until age 19. Beyond influential people, the Suburban Garden was an amusement park that enabled African American residents to enjoy amusement during times of racial segregation. Deanwood provides is residents with good public transportation options including bus lines and the Orange metro line available at the Deanwood metro station. 

Security deposit equal to one month’s rent is due upon signing a lease.
